September 13, 20, 27, October 4, 18 (no class October 11)
Yes you can! All of the unbelievably cute animals featured in Yan Schenckel’s Animal Friends of Pica Pau are created with just one stitch: single crochet. Come and have a blast with Megan as she guides you through the steps to make Pedro von Dito Pig. We’ll start simply with a practice ball as you learn to count stitches and rows, and then move onto the simple shaping techniques for the body. Most importantly, we’ll spend lots of time learning how to stuff the pieces and sew on the appendages so that your piggy will look just like the one in the book. Animal Friends of Pica Pau has beautifully written and photographed tutorials so that you’ll be able to make an entire petting zoo by Christmas.
Please bring a 3.75mm crochet hook and 25m of good quality worsted-weight yarn to the first class (please leave “inherited” or scrap yarn for other projects). A copy of Animal Friends of Pica Pau (available in-store) will be required for the second class onwards.
