Tweed DK yarn and the coloured bits are Hedgehog's own hand-dyed waste - the ties that they take off the hand dyed skeins. They save them very diligently and it's a total labour of love!
They have been collecting the ties for a while and finally found a mill that could process these, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again. They have a batch of this lovely taupe, grey-ish tweed yarn with colourful speckles. We love how neutral it is with a colourful bit here and there. It comes in one colourway only and we think it's just calling for sweaters and cardigans.
They are always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimize waste. On top of our thread waste they are using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. We love the result! It's soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully after washing.
