Art of Yarn Classes – 2010

Join the fun…..knit, crochet, felt – make cool stuff.
Classes begin week of January 4th, 2010.

Classes for everyone….knitters and new adventurers alike.

Things to Know and Bring:

New students bring needles (size 4 – 4.5mm), a ball of worsted weight yarn and a carry bag to keep your work in. Other useful items are a paper pad, pen, post it notes, tape measure, ziplock bag, safety pins, small scissors and some straight pins. No worries if you don’t have these items; you can pick them up at your first class or when you register. All general knit classes are $40.00 for a 6 week session or if the session is less than 6 weeks it is $8.00 per class. You must register for the whole session or if you register part way through a session for all the remaining classes. Drop Ins are okay if there is space in the class. You must check on space availability with the store or the teacher. If you have to miss a class please let the teacher or store know - we will try to find a time for you to makeup the class. Makeup classes must be made in the same series but may be with any teacher. Please advise us of your absence; it helps us find room for another student to do a make up class or allows for a drop in student.

Our KNITTING BASICS is designed for new knitters or those who would like a refresher course. Class size is smaller so students will get more one on one help.

If you have the basic skills or have attended classes with us previously sign up to be in one of our KNITTING GROUPS. A teacher is always present at these social sessions and will help you with new ideas and assist you with your projects. The teacher will introduce new tips and techniques to help you improve your skill level while having fun.

Our WORKSHOPS focus more specifically on various items of interest and are always changing. The felting workshops are a hands on class and require no knitting skills.

Check out the list below to see what works best for you.

OUR CLASS POLICIES

Class size is limited to provide the best learning experience for all. Cost of classes depends on teacher fees, class size and amount of preparatory work involved.

Classes are on a first come first serve basis. For our knitting groups we endeavour to give priority to returning students and will hold their spot if they indicate they are continuing up to 1 week before start of class.

We can unfortunately not offer a refund for missed classes or for any cancellation after 1 week before the start of a class.

At the discretion of the teacher you may be able to make up a missed class as long as there is room in another class in the same session. Please let the teacher know if you cannot attend so she will know if there is room for another student to make up a class. Students wishing to drop in must call first to see if there is room in a class. Drop In fee is $9.00.
